Want your engineering to help with drug discovery or break into the pharmaceutical and Healthcare market? My client is looking for a data engineer with hands-on experience. You will work with biotech, pharmaceutical, and scientific companies, bringing advanced data and AI technologies to research. You will be working alongside a team of scientific data engineers, and being able to mentor them will be key. Use of cloud systems such as AWS, S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and CloudWatch. Expertise in Python and SQL is also needed, as well as working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, and React.

Requirements:

• A strong background in data engineering (or a closely related discipline), with a track record of designing and shipping data products
• Advanced Python skills, plus hands-on experience with front-end and server-side JavaScript technologies (TypeScript, Node.js, React)
• Solid SQL and Python experience applied to data pipelines, system integrations and science-focused software
• Experience owning client-facing delivery projects end to end, gathering requirements, setting timelines, hitting milestones and coordinating several teams
• A track record of working closely with laboratory and research scientists and handling preclinical or R&D data
• An understanding of the life sciences sector (biotech and pharma) and of working within quality-regulated frameworks such as GxP
• Practical AWS experience across common services: storage (S3), serverless (Lambda), containers (ECS), compute (EC2), messaging (SQS/SNS) and monitoring (CloudWatch)
• A working knowledge of full-stack development, CI/CD pipelines and networking fundamentals
• The ability to get to grips with a complex technical platform quickly and explain it clearly to clients, product managers and senior engineering stakeholders
• Clear communication, strong attention to detail and the confidence to lead delivery from the front
